Abstract

This research studies the effects of moringa leaf extract on the prolongation of cut rose.  The experiment was designed following one factor at a time method including 4 treatments, each treatment was repeated 3 times. Dalat red roses (Rosa hybrida L.) were subjected to different concentrations of moringa leaf extract at 1%, 3% and 5%. Our results showed that moringa leaf extract at all concentrations significantly extend vase life compared to the control. Roses subjected to moringa leaf extract uptake water better due to antimicrobial activity. Biochemical analysis indicated stable chlorophyll content and MDA level in leaves, lower H2O2 production and higher catalase activity from flowers treated with moringa leaf extract at all concentrations.
