Abstract

This article presents the results of investigating the elastic properties of single knitted fabrics made from polyamide textured yarn and elasthane yarn to evaluate the possibility of using them as abdominal shaping products for women. Research results show that the elasticity of the fabric when stretched 80% horizontally reaches a value of 98.68%. The relationship between stretching force and fabric stretch in the stretch range from 0 to 60% is a linear relationship with a very high correlation coefficient R (R2 = 0.984). This result shows that within the studied stretch range, the fabric's elasticity reaches nearly 100%. To evaluate the fabric's ability to create pressure on the body, the study assumed a woman's waist had a circumference of 80 cm with a roughly circular cross-section. The results of determining pressure according to the Laplace formula show that when the horizontal stretch of the fabric increases from 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60%, the pressure created by the fabric in the abdominal area of a woman with a waist circumference of 80 cm increased from 1.56, 2.70, 3.83, 4.97, 6.10 and 7.24 mmHg.
