GREEN SYNTHESIS OF COPPER NANOPARTICLES USING QUERCETIN
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this research, we successfully synthesized Copper Nano (CuNP) using quercetin as a green reducing agent. The optimum conditions for the synthesis of CuNP such as the concentration of copper sulfate (CuSO4), polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000), reaction temperature, reducing agent/solution ratio, pH and reaction time were 1-3 mM, 2%, 60 ˚C, 10 mL/100 mL, 8 and 30 minutes, were investigated and determined, respectively. When observing the reaction process, the color change from solution blue to light brown visible to the eye could predict the formation of CuNP. PEG-6000 used as a dispersant of CuNP in colloidal systems. The resulted CuNP were characterized then by the analysis method such as UV-Vis Spectrometer (UV-Vis), Dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Characterizationby using XRD shows CuNPs possesses face centered cubic (FCC) crystal lattice structure in nature. The TEM images determined the shape and the nanosizes of the particles of about 15-30 nm.
