Abstract

This paper investigates determinants of labor force participation by married women in Vietnam. Using data source from the survey of General Statistics in 2012 and 2014, the study has 2023 observations to analize. The Logistics model is emplyed for quantitative analysis for both cross-sectional and panel data. The role of female labor force has been increasing in Vietnam during the last few decades. However, to female labors, marriage could be a break, which can reduce the probability to participate the labor force. The study try to find out determinants of labor force participation by married women in Vietnam. These determinants are the household average income, woman’s age, level of education, the number of children from 6 to 15, the number of children under 6, other income, husband’s age, husband’s level of education, and husband’s unemployment.
