Abstract

Yellow turmeric, black pepper and purple onion, collected from Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province, were cleaned, dried, and crushed into powder. The extraction was carried out in a tightly closed reaction tube for a few days at room temperature in the dark. Ethyl acetate was selected to be the most suitable solvent for extraction during the study period of 1-30 days. Varying the extraction conditions did not increase the extraction yield. The cytotoxicity in vitro against the human skin fibroblasts HSF cells and the human colon cancer HCT-116 cells was studied. Black pepper and purple onion extracts showed a good effect on the biological activity of turmeric extract. The obtained extracts were analyzed using LC/MS, TLC, column chromatography on silica gel.
