STUDY ON CHANGE OF PLANT STRUCTURE IN MY HOA HUNG COMMUNE, LONG XUYEN CITY – AN GIANG PROVINCE IN THE CONCEPT OF CHANGE OF WATER RESOURCES OF THE UPPER MEKONG AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Abstract

To respond to the changing situation of the Mê Kông River's water resources, An Giang has been implementing many solutions synchronously; In which, crop restructuring is one of the feasible and economically efficient solutions that are being concerned. Aiming at transforming crop structure to use water efficiently for agricultural production; Based on the climate change scenario of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (2016), water changes in the upper Mê Kông River, the current status of agricultural land use, the topic uses the SWOT matrix method to provide solutions for suitable land use. The topic determines the local agricultural production to convert from rice land to growing vegetables and fruit trees; offer short-term, long-term solutions for fruit trees and be flexible in shifting from rice land, avoiding disturbing people's livelihoods, and contributing to the provision of eco-tourism services.
