SOLUTIONS FOR CONVERTING FROM CBR VALUES TO MODULUS OF ELASTICITY IN CALCULATION OF SOFT ROAD STRUCTURE DESIGN

Abstract

Calculating the elastic modulus of the foundation (E₀) is regular work in the survey and design of motorways. The value E₀ plays a very important role in the quality of each design project. In practice, however, it is not always possible to determine the value E₀. In these cases, the design of the pavement structure will encounter many difficulties and obstacles. The paper presents the results of the research to determine the elastic modulus of the ground through the value of the load capacity of the material - CBR to remove the problems that are actually being encountered. The results obtained the error between E₀ - determined through the actual measured value of CBR and E₀ is from 5.2% to 6.4%.
