FACTORS AFFECTING STUDENTS' DECISION TO BECOME PARTNERS AS RIDERS WITH GRAB BIKE IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract
Nowadays, the number of students participating Grab bike as riders is increasing day by day and getting a lot of attention from the community. Students participating Grab bike as a part-time job are to earn income, to improve their knowledge, and soft skills, to gain experience, which are all that students need to prepare for getting a good job in the future. This study aims to identify and evaluate the factors affecting students’ decision to become partners as riders with Grab bike, and propose some managerial implications so that Grab could improve its service quality. Combining qualitative and quantitative research methods, the study was conducted a survey of 184 respondents who are students studying at the universities in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC). The study was used SPSS 20.0 to analyse this study by tests of reliability, factor analysis and correlation analysis, regression analysis which there are 5 factors affecting the students’ decisions to become partners as riders with Grab bike in HCMC, including (1) Income; (2) Skill improvement; (3) Time utilization; (4) Personal need; (5) Social relationships. From these findings and results, the authors proposed some managerial implications so that Grab could improve effectively its quality.
