Abstract

We have investigated a novel system using a Direct modulation laser (DML) to generate Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal for Radio Over Fiber (ROF) system. This 40GHz mm-wave signal has been generated by a DML driven by 3.5Gb/s electrical OFDM signal carried by 20GHz RF signal. This novel system employs a direct modulation laser and a Fiber Bragg Grating which is a practical system for future broadband access network
