THE REALITY ABOUT ORIENTIATING LOVE VALUES OF STUDENTS AND SUGGESTING THE PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING MODEL

Abstract

Results of research about love value orientations of 599 students in 3 universities: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Science and Industrial University of HCMC stated that students had a positive love orientation mostly directing toward to the associative value group, sex value group, and then the commitment value group and the unity among the three cognitive - attitude – behavior. However, the relationships among the three sides are not high. This represents the diversity of love value orientation of students. Besides, they had a high desire about a psychological counselling center established in the university to help them have the right love orientation. The professional counselling model and “Person - Centered” therapy of Carl Rogers might be a useful reference for the university to refer and apply.
