Abstract

The study was conducted to find out students’ evaluation of the outcomes they achieved from their learning experience at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh city (IUH) and  the level of their satisfaction with this experience. A survey was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics was utilized for the data analysis. Data collected from the responses of 497 students studying at IUH showed that (i) students thought that their learning experience at IUH contributed significantly to their development of personality but moderately to their knowledge accumulation, learning skill development, and work preparation; (ii) the level of students’ satisfaction with their learning experience was not high. Theoretically, the study added aspects that are little mentioned in Vietnamese research on higher education learning outcomes, for example, the university’s contribution to students’ development of personality and work preparation. Practically, the research indicated areas the university should improve to increase its training quality, including the focus on developing students’ critical thinking, writing, statistical analysis and problem solving skills and the creation of a friendlier learning environment for students.
