Abstract

Vietnam’s electricity market has moved to the level 2 – The competitive wholesale electricity market level. The generation companies (GenCos) and the load service entities (LSEs) paticipate in the market with aim maximum profits. The optimal bidding strategy is a key for exploitation by the participants. In this article, The dynamic competitive wholesale power market model is presented. The optimization algorithms are used to solve the optimal bidding strategy problems. The SA-Q learning algorithm is a combined of the simulated annealing algorithm and the Q – reinforcement learning algorithm, that is proposed and used for GenCos to bidding strategy. The IEEE 30-nút test system with six Gencos and three LSEs is used for simulations.
